Real Madrid's Christiano Ronaldo wins the FIFA Ballon d'or after being named the world best player for 2014, beating Messi and Manuel Neuer to clinch the much coveted title.
This is the Portuguese forward's third overall title and second successive win.
The award comes as no surprise as the Madrid man has been tipped as a deserving recipient given his exceptional form in the past year.
Other winners include; Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez, who won the Puskas award for best goal.
Germany coach Joachim Low and compatriot Ralf Kellermann, coach of Wolfsburg Ladies, were named as FIFA World Coaches of the Year for Men’s and Women’s Football,respectively. Low was named the coach of the year, having coached his team to win last year's world cup in Brazil.
Also Wolfsburg captain Nadine Kessler won the women player of the year.
