Trouble is brewing in Edo as the state government and the University of Benin management are on war path over landed property. The state claims it owns some 18 bungalows built by Chief S.O. Ogbemudia (former governor of Mid-West State) which currently houses senior lecturers, but the school management thinks otherwise.
On Monday night, reports say about 2,000 thugs attacked the quarter, made some damages, ordered the lecturers to move out and promised to be back.
The lecturers however took to the street to protest the injustice done to them.
