  Prof. AbdulRsheed Na’ Allah, Vice-Chancellor, Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, affirmed this, stating that 'he has inaugurated a committee for the establishment of the centre for Nollywood studies in the University'.
He disclosed this on Monday, while giving an opening address at the Conference on African Cinema, tagged; “African Cinema and the Supernatural”, organised by the University.
He said that when operational, the centre would  perform the responsibility of pointing out the
role and effect of Nollywood films in the society.
Na’ Allah said that the conference was part of the University’s aim of building bridges between
scholars and those who promote culture outside the university.
The vice-chancellor said that the essence of the conference was to redefine the progress made by the nation in terms of arts and culture for the benefit of all.
He also stated that the centre being planned would be a focal point where the meaning and relevance of
Nollywood would be studied. (NAN)
